Don't get me wrong, the post was of noble intentions and many were able to relate to it I'm sure. But it will remain just that, mere words that could never achieve anything.

In regards to Kuwait, countdown to complete devastation has started and yes, it needs to be rectified, and yes it can be rectified.

What we need is a plan that is based on laborious thinking, and the will to implement it as a group.

The greatest thing about all of this, is that at the moment - and due to our financial stability as citizens - we have the resources, the time, and the dedication to do wonders.

I like what "Ahal Sharg" said; I like his way of thinking.

You know, in the previous post, Bo-Bader said that this was the number one blog in Kuwait because of how you handled the last post.

I disagree. What makes this blog number one is receiving disapproving comments such as the one(s) left by Anonymous @ 7:43.

You just know you're saying exactly the right thing when you start pissing "bad" people off.

And for that you should be on cloud nine, man.

Anonymous, you don't get to call him Uncle Eddy, boy?

Those of us who do acknowledge the intentional corruption have been aware of it for a long time now. There are many, though, who are not aware. And the only way one could fight corruption is through speaking to the majority of the public.

Anonymous w/ the suggestion,

I would actually take your suggestion into consideration but it's useless since all Arabic countries are oppressed and defiled exactly like Kuwait (some are worse off).

The Arabic man, it seems, still does not perceive himself as capable and strong enough to fight back. And that's the source of the problem in my opinion.

The thing is, we are strong. Every righteous person should speak and act fearlessly.

The best comment was left by Angel, who is sadly leaving blogging (despite its uselessness but I'd rather have her blog than many others).

She says, "What might be the solution?", which is pretty darn proactive.

Finding any solution lies within identifying what the problem is in the first place.

I think the whole problem lies within how we perceive ourselves as a people and how we've always perceived ourselves as a Kuwaiti public.

Unfortunately, despite writing endlessly about corruption for decades now, we still detach ourselves from these problems by defining ourselves as mere voyeurs rather than citizens whose "right" it is to see that these problems are immediately rectified.

Proof?

The country is in devastation and what do we do? We look up to Abdullah Al Salem, and fantasize about the good old days when rulers (actually, it was just that one) portrayed true leadership qualities.

Even when we romanticize and dream of change, it's through them! LoL. It's not them we should look at .. never. It's us. It's always been us. We're the ones who care for one another, the ones who will suffer from corruption, and the only ones capable of saving a nation.

Be truthful, be passionate, be objective, and be strong. Lay off blogging for a while and go out and talk to people, just ordinary Kuwaiti folk. Man, there are just some "crazy good" people out there; volunteers, charitable folks, simple people.

If our attitude changes, if we believe "we" can kick ass, then we will.

Anonymous said...

Last but not least is the core.

How "must" we perceive those in power?

Whenever anyone attains power over anyone else, the potential for that person-in-power to do wrong immediately increases since they would be looking out for their own good vs. the benefit of those who are lower in status. It's just human nature.

Teacher vs. student, boss vs. employee, employer vs. maid, ruler vs. citizen.

We are all equal as human beings and no one should have the status of holding power over someone else.

That is not normal.

But having authority and holding that power, despite its abnormal nature, is a necessity. However, this necessity must go hand in hand with scrutiny, accountability, and evaluation by those who do not have that power since "they" are the ones immediately affected by it.

Any person who holds an ounce of power over you immediately deserves scrutiny that would keep him on track and ensure that his powers are beneficial to you and therefore justified and allowable to continue.

And that person in power better be walking on eggshells, otherwise he should be tossed out on his ass and replaced by another.

So even if you do perceive yourself as powerless, you're not. Even if you perceive those in power as indestructible, they're not. No one has the right to hold power over you but yourself. No one can limit what you can do but yourself. And you bet your ass that no one can save you but yourself.

Believe in that.

And stand the f**k up.

Anonymous said...

Now,I, have complete conviction of that, no matter who the f**k stands before me.

But I am not everyone, although I wish I were, if only for the sake of others. I can only fend for myself and I fend quite well .. for myself.

But when it comes to country, I stand alone since many others are not as empowered.

You want change?

You drill that principle into the minds of all, and change would be inevitable .. it would be unavoidable actually.

You hear that Muskateers?

You want change, y'all copy and paste these lines on a new post.

Wake people up.
